Tonight was my first time to this establishment. It was a great experience. The staff was friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable about sake. It was fun learning about the different types and tasting them. The food was also delicious.

I live in Carbondale and have enjoyed many meals at Konyaku. I bring my daughter for the sushi and miso soup. It is my daughter's favorite restaurant and the hostess is always friendly. The food is consistently fresh and delicious. Don't hesitate to give this place a try!

My husband, 2 friends and I went to Konnyaku tonight and had the worst dining experience ever. I normally do not complain about dining experiences but this was by far the worst I have ever experienced and I want fellow locals and tourists to know that you shouldn't waste your money. After ordering our drinks, we had to wait at least 25 minutes to get them even though we could see them sitting on the bar. The waitress/owner just wasn't bringing them to us. First she only brings us our beer, even though we can see the karaft of hot sake that we order is sitting there getting cold. Once she brought the drinks we asked for 2 different appetizers. We were asked if that would be enough. Another 10 to 15 minutes we get our apps and are able to order our entree, which again we were asked if we were ordering enough. As we sat there waiting for an unreasonable amount of time she finally brings out 1 entree for 1 person. We had to wait another 15 minutes for our sushi for the other 2 people to come out and we were still waiting for the final entree for the last person. We were never brought soy sauce we had to ask for it and the bowls to put it in. 2 out of the 4 in our group never received dinner napkins. We waited another 15 minutes and finally cancelled the last entree. The Spider roll I ordered was rancid and was not eaten. When we received the first entree we asked the owner/waitress when we would be receiving the other food because we didn't want the food to get cold she told the one guest to go ahead and eat it! My friend came to eat with us not alone! She, the owner/waitress, never apologized, didn't offer to comp a drink or anything, in fact, she gave us all attitude. Just a horrible way to treat a customer and a terrible way to run a business. All 4 of us are locals and will never return there and we will be letting our friends know to not waste your time or money.

Konnyaku, Had a wonderful time. Excellent atmosphere, the owner had allowed a band to play and there was dancing and laughter. The chef made some delicious finger foods of wrapped chicken that was melting in my mouth. There were several big parties that filled many tables and fireworks were on TV as the waitress brought me a pina colada and we said Happy New Year together. I also had the tenderloins that were delicious as well as the greetings and hope everyone has an opportunity to experience the restaurant as I have. Thank you Konnyaku and wonderful staff for celebrating with me. Happy Easter to and yours and hope the rest of the year is great for you.
